THE KING HAS COME - MATTHEW’S GOSPEL

In chapters 8 to 12 of Matthew’s Gospel, Jesus crisscrosses the region of Galilee teaching the crowds, healing the sick & driving out demons. And people are stunned. He drives out demons. He heals with the untouchable with touch and others with mere words. His words strike ears with sharp authority. And the desperate crowds cannot get enough. They follow Jesus for help, healing and the truth about God.

Could it be true? Has a king has come to claim his kingdom. Is Jesus the long-awaited Messiah? The one appointed by God to bring justice and healing to the world?

Some think so. But others contest Jesus’ power and authority. They believe he is in league with Satan. If he is a king, he is a king given power by the underworld.

Who is Jesus? Is he really as powerful as Christians claim - bringing help, healing and the truth? Is Jesus the King who has come? Or, is he a charlatan and a fraud who has continued to deceive Christians?
