The leader we need was assassinated
He had no personal security; his disciples were told not to fight.
There was no overwatch; his angels were told to stand down.
He wasn’t hustled away; he offered himself to stand alone; naked.
He didn’t rise defiantly but lowered himself in humility.
He didn’t raise his fist in defiance; he offered himself in defeat.
His wounds weren't superficial but a killing crucifixion.
Yet he rose from the grave and triumphed over all.
He rules with mercy and justice.
His rule has no terms but will last through eternity.
His name is Jesus.

I’m very thankful to God that former President Trump wasn’t assassinated for his sake but also for the nation. Like a bunch of Aussies, I’m an outside observer of American politics, so I might be wrong, but I think if Trump was assassinated America would probably have plunged into profound chaos and even, civil war. Such is the heat and hatred between political groups at the moment.
